Speak Like A King

If I am King, where is my power? Can I form a government? Levy a tax? Declare a war? No! And yet I am the seat of all authority because they think that when I speak, I speak for them. But I can’t speak. – Kings Speech

That’s King George VI, the stammer. Who was required to speak to the entire United Kingdom with power and confidence.  A king who was to provide vision, security, and direction through his voice, but failed to do so. How can someone with a speech disorder and victim of inferiority complex provide such a thing?

It saddens me to see unreleased potential.  Being afraid is not the issue, as Seth Godin puts it, it’s the paralysis that fear causes which makes some to become passive and apathetic. We become hesitant to make choices, not realizing that it’s not about waiting, it’s about the immediate intention and action that needs to take place — Today!

King George the stammer had to soon realize, that he had a Voice. And important one, a lot more than the impediment itself. With it, I’m sure he changed millions of lives.
